When 1859 Balloon Voyage opened, it had simple displays and some mechanical interactives. The balloon has become as much an icon for Conner Prairie has our historic village. During the 2015 renovation, I saw the opportunity to incorporate more integrated history-STEM (that we pioneered in Create.Connect) experiences. By using media, electro-mechanical and physical interactives with clever set pieces, we were able enrich the story of the first airmail delivery.
