Funded by both NSF and IMLS, Create.Connect is a genre bending mashup of history and STEM stories and experiences.
This was my first project at Conner Prairie. One of the main struggles was to express both domains equally; in the end I think we were pretty successful. Visitors can snoop through a 1930’s kitchen for historical context, experiment with circuit blocks to build a simple circuit and discuss how electrical power transformed a Hoosier housewife and more in this 3000 sq ft exhibit. Once the project was up and running, I was instrumental in creating a model melding story, object, activity and character for other history museums to follow.
